Name: Hunter Gagnon

Hometown: Rollinsford, N.H.

Hunter is serving as a member of the NCCC-FEMA Corps team Pine 1 at the Vinton Campus. He chose to participate in AmeriCorps NCCC-FEMA Corps because he found the idea of service appealing. He says, “AmeriCorps is a worthy cause and anything I do in service will be worthwhile throughout my life.”

Hunter graduated from York High School in 2008 and The Evergreen State College in 2011 where he majored in philosophy. Right now he is considering applying for another AmeriCorps position after his current service term ends.

Hunter has done a number of interesting things in his life. One summer he worked with his father on a vegetable farm. More recently he took care of his brother who was recovering from major back surgery. Another time he was caught in a thunderstorm on top of Mt. Washington and had to find shelter. He is looking forward to collecting more interesting experiences through his NCCC-FEMA Corps service.
