Et cetera : AmeriCorps NCCC-FEMA Corps Class 19 Member Spotlight: Jessica Moore

Name: Jessica Moore

Hometown: Salem, Va.

Jessica is serving as a member of the NCCC-FEMA Corps team Pine 5 at the Vinton Campus. She chose to participate in AmeriCorps NCCC-FEMA Corps because she wanted to challenge herself while helping others.

Jessica graduated from Glenvar High School in 2007 and Lynchburg College in 2011 where she majored in history. Prior to serving in NCCC-FEMA Corps she completed a six month term of service with the Montana Conservation Corps, a state AmeriCorps program. After her time with NCCC-FEMA Corps ends she hopes to attend graduate school.

This past summer Jessica spent two months hiking the El Camino trail starting in southern France and heading to the Spanish coast. She says that it was a personal and physical challenge to hike 500 miles and return safely home. She looks forward to having more adventures in the NCCC-FEMA Corps program.
