Norma Ann Falck Wright was born in Belle Plaine on March 27, 1934, to Mabel (McLaury) Falck and Lewis L. Falck. She grew up in Belle Plaine, Iowa, graduating from Belle Plaine High School in 1952. She attended Colorado University in Boulder and then Iowa State Teacher's College, graduating in 1955 with a BA in Elementary Education.

A marriage to Earl O. Wright in 1956 was later dissolved. Norma taught elementary school for 39 years, 31 of which were in Kalona, Iowa. She retired in 1999.

Norma was a member of the United Christian & Baptist Church of Kalona where she served as a church organist/pianist, was a president of Women's Fellowship, helped staff the food pantry, and rang handbells in the church bell group. Norma also served as a Washington Concert Association board member and was a member and past president of P.E.O.

Norma is survived by her children: Sharon Wright, Waterloo, Iowa; Linda Ogden (Ron), Davenport, Iowa; Katie Burns (Craig), Akron,Colorado; Robert Wright (Marvin Gillman), St. Charles, Missouri; and Donna King (Bill), Williamsburg, Iowa. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Sean Ogden (Alex), Bettendorf, Iowa; Cole Burns, Akron, Colorado; Raymond King, Naperville, Illinois; and Norah King Park (Woojin), Seoul, South Korea; great-grandsons Keegan Ogden and Gavin Ogden; her sister-in-law Sue, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John Falck; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. (The above obituary was written by Norma Wright.)

Per Norma's request, there will be no service. There will be, in Norma's words, a "Party with Chocolate" open house, held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the Kalona Library, 510 C Avenue, Kalona, Iowa 52247. A family-only burial will be held at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine, Iowa, earlier that day.

Memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice, The Kalona Historical Village, and Highland Ridge Assisted Living/Gables Care Center (Presbyterian Homes & Services).
