Obituaries : Darvin D Jones

Darvin D Jones 77 of Urbana, died June 12 2023 while vacationing in Belize.
Darvin was born February 4 1946 in Liberal Kansas to Ira and Ruby Mae Jones.
He attended Liberal High School then moved to San Francisco California where he met the love of his life Mary Carranza. They married on June 22 1967. They moved to Liberal Kansas in 1969 and Urbana Iowa in 1998.
Darvin worked hard his entire life. He worked as an auto mechanic, owned his own car wash, worked at National Beef Packing in maintenance for 30 years, Amana Refrigeration and finally WalMart.
Darvin was a friend to everyone who knew him, and always wanted to help in any way he could.
Darvin is survived by his wife Mary, his children Julie (Dale) Cummings, Louis (Tammy) Jones, Jorge (Anita) Weston, Mona (Kevin) Long, and Maybell (Dan) McDaniel, brother David (Monica) Jones, and sister Maybell (Richard) Ingland, 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Darvin was preceded in death by his parents, son Norman, brothers Houston, Dean (Shorty) and Danny.
A mass will be held at St Mary's Catholic Church in Urbana on July 22, 2023, at 10:30 am. with a celebration of life to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for monetary donations to support Darvin's wife, Mary.
