Bernice Irma Foulk, 93, of La Porte City, IA, passed peacefully at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home on Saturday, July 1, 2023. She was born February 8, 1930, at the farm of her paternal grandparents Wilhem and Christina (Eippert) Wagner in Tuttle, ND. She was the eldest daughter of George and Martha (Schwindt) Wagner. Her family moved to Waterloo, IA, when she was seven years old.

She attended Lafayette Grade School for two years and then Immanuel Lutheran School through eighth grade. She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1948.

Bernice married Garold Owen Foulk on July 9, 1950, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2017.

She worked at Cutler's Clothing Store, Waterloo Schools, Gen's Flowers, and Stumme Jewelers. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she served on many committees and had been the secretary and treasurer of the Women's Guild.

Bernice is survived by her sons, Dennis (Sharon) Foulk of La Porte City and Gary (Cherie) Foulk of Waterloo; grandsons: Wade (Sara) Foulk, Brad (Jodi) Foulk and Christopher Foulk; granddaughters: Carrie (Jeremy) Schaeffer and Katie (Patrick Lynch) Foulk; eleven great-grandchildren: Dalton, Treavor, Madelon, Ellie, Kamryn, Avery, Mason, Rylan, Levi, MacKena, and Jameson; one sister Doris Meyer; one brother Clarence Wagner; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one son James Alan, her husband of 67 years, four sisters: Eilleen Pieper, Lydia (Tootie) Weatherman, Barbie Draper, Marcella (Sally) Foulk, one brother George (JR) Wagner, sisters-in-law Barb Wagner and Geri Wagner, and three brothers-in-law: George Draper, Charles (Buzz) Meyers, and Billy Foulk.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 8, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, with burial after in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation will take place from 4:30 - 6:30 PM, Friday, July 7, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo.
