Jennifer L. “Jenny” Jeck

Jennifer L. “Jenny” Jeck, age 45, of Walford, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 13, 2025.Jennifer Lynda Jeck was born February 9, 1980, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of David and Diane Bierman Jeck. She graduated from Prairie High School, then attended UNLV Las Vegas for hotel management. Jenny loved going to movies; “Star Wars,” “Harry Potter” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas” were some of her favorites.

Bernard Glenn Quint

Bernard Glenn Quint, 87, of Shellsburg, Iowa, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025, at home.  Funeral Mass will be held Monday, March 31, 2025, 10:30 am, at St Pius Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Visitation will be Sunday, March 30, 2:00-5:00 pm, with a rosary at 4:30 pm, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.  Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors.

Nanci Kay (Nissen) Parizek

Nanci Kay (Nissen) Parizek, 55, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Compass Memorial Hospital in Marengo.Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone, with Pastor Josiah Schultz officiating.  Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery, followed by a reception at the church.

Dave Duncklee

The Northeast Iowa community mourns the loss of Dave Duncklee, 84, who passed away peacefully in a Florida hospital following a significant brain bleed. His high school sweetheart, Cheryl, was by his side for 62 years. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.A beloved educator, Mr. Duncklee dedicated 32 years to inspiring young minds as a Physics and Chemistry teacher at Waukon Senior High School (1965-1997).

Sharon J. Phillips

Sharon J. Phillips, 84, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Vinton Lutheran Home, where she had been a resident for the past two years. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 9:00 until 10:15 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton.  Funeral services will follow at 10:30 AM with Rev. Stephen Preus officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.

Eugene Joseph Youngblut

Eugene Joseph Youngblut, 56 years old, of rural La Porte City, Iowa, died Monday, March 10, 2025, at his home following a sudden heart attack.Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Tuesday, March 18, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup, with burial at the church cemetery at a later date.Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, March 17, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a parish rosary said at 3:30 p.

Duane Marvin Fisher

Duane Marvin Fisher passed from this life on March 11th, 2025 following the diagnosis of a rare bone marrow cancer. Duane was born to Marvin and Doris Fisher on November 26th, 1950 in Hampton, Iowa as the eldest of eight siblings. Duane grew up on the family farm near McIntire, Iowa and graduated from Riceville High School in 1969. Duane is remembered for being a genuinely caring big brother and always looking out for his siblings.

Ronald Dean Elder

Ronald Dean Elder, 86, of Chelsea, IA passed away March 12, 2025 at Virginia Gay Hospital, Vinton, IA.Ronald was born February 18, 1939 and raised in Lucas County, IA. He joined the Navy at 17 and worked his way up the ladder to become an Electronics Technician, Nuclear Technician. After his retirement from the Armed Forces, Ronald worked a wide range of careers.

Gary Lee Behaunek

Gary Lee Behaunek, 73, of Brooklyn, IA, passed away March 11, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Gary was born November 9, 1951 to Henry and Mildred (Macek) Behaunek in Belle Plaine, IA. Growing up in Chelsea, IA he attended South Tama Community Schools. Gary lived most of his adult life in Brooklyn going to work for Manatt’s in 1973 and retiring in 2015.

Beverly "Bev" Kay Crooks

Beverly "Bev" Kay Crooks, 82, of Cedar Falls, and formerly of La Porte City, died Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Western Home Communities. She was born on November 27, 1942, in Le Mars, IA, the daughter of Arnold and Minnie Stulc Danne. Bev graduated from Iowa State Teacher's College (UNI) in 1964 and taught in Belle Plaine, retiring in 2003 as an elementary guidance counselor.
