Iowa State Fair Exhibits & Communications Winners in the Communication entries:

Working Exhibits

7th Graders Nora and Jenna Grovert of the North Eden Willing Workers 4-H club received recognition for their submission promoting literacy. They designed magnetic bookmarks that are cute and functional and encourage reading at the Iowa State Fair.  

Ag & Natural Resources and  Conservation

Andy Holthaus a member of Polk 101 4-H, entered under  Ag & Natural Resources and  Conservation, Environment, and Sustainability, He received a blue ribbon for his  4' x 4' x 1' Farm Display. which includes a pond, house, machine sheds, grain bins and cropland.

Another member of Polk 101,  Jacob Schmitz, received a Blue Ribbon for his  Garden Habitat: A garden habitat and for the Gray Tree Frog native to Iowa, providing safe shelter from predators. The project also provided a solar light to attract food, and water to sustain life.

Animals: Animal Sciences

The Florence Go Getters was represented by  William Kroneman entering a Static entry under Animals and the Animal Sciences. He was awarded a Blue Ribbon under  Cattle Nutrition: Cattle mineral feeder with fly wicks.

Photography  

Addyson Sweeney, entered "Fox in the Country" a photo of a fox sitting on a country road. Sweeney brought home a Red Ribbon and is a member of Polk 101.

Alivia Sweeney also of Polk 101 brought home a Blue Ribbon for her 8X10 photo of a lilypad flower.  

Avery Sweeney brought home a Blue Ribbon as well as a PPI Gallery Award. As a member of Polk 101 she entered the picture entitled, "Little Sister Addyson."   The photo is an 8X10 photo of a girl in a hat sitting in the grass.  

Steiger Manson of Polk 101 entered in Photography under  Creative Arts with a photo entitled, 'Reflections" and won a blue ribbon.  

Courtney, Chambers a member of Leroy Luckies 4-H, won a Blue Ribbon for the entry entitled "Changing of the Guard" a 11X14 of three military persons.  

Ava Siek entered a 5X7 photo of a purple peony flower brought home a Red Ribbon for the Florence Go Getters.  

Raya Miller of the Florence Hawkeyes won a Blue Ribbon for a 14 X 8   panoramic photo of mountains.  

Emily Cue entered a 10X8 close up of a cow by the fence with a yellow ear tag. Emily a member of Polk 101 won a Blue Ribbon and is PPI Gallary Considered.

Alexandra Zahradnik, a member of the Florence Go Getters, entered a 5X7 photo of a man with an orange chain saw sitting on a stump and brought home a white ribbon.
