The National Night Out is an event for citizens to meet those that work in the community and share a time of fun together. This free event will take place Tuesday, August 1st from 5-7 p.m. at the Van Horne City Park unless it rains, and in that case it will move to the Community Center.

Stop by to visit with several area organizations which include the Area Substance Abuse Council, the Benton County K9 Unit from the Sheriff's Department, Vinton and Belle Plaine Police Departments, Above the Influence and the newly formed Benton County Suicide Prevention Coalition.

There will be yard games to enjoy, squad car demonstrations and Beast and Bird will have food available for purchase if you don't feel like cooking!

Come on out, bring the kids and meet the folks who work in the community supporting the citizens in any way that they can.
