Several folks made their way to Garrison on Saturday for the annual Garrison Fun Day. The event is held each year as part of the annual fundraiser for the Garrison Emergency Services Foundation. The annual activities are Hosted by the Garrison Fire Department, Garrison First Responders, and the Garrison Fire Auxiliary. The 13th annual Show & Shine Car show added a craft show this year as well.

Come join us for the Annual "Bring the Noise 5K" brought to you by Vinton Noon Kiwanis.We will have a 5K Race & A 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk. Back in person this year we are lacing up our shoes on August 28.
The Vinton American Legion will be holding a Tenderloin Dinner on Thursday, July 22nd from 5.00 to 7:00 pm ( For those with allergy concerns, the tenderloins are fried in peanut oil.)The 8 oz Tenderloin is served on a bun with French Fries on the side and a Dessert for $10.00.The George G. A homecoming celebration will be held at the VFW Post 8884 on July 10, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.The event will be in honor of the new VFW Department of Iowa Auxiliary President, Jeanette Henry who also serves as the local Auxiliary President for the local VFW 8884/A meal will be served at 11:00 a.m. for a free will offering. Everyone is welcome to stop out to meet and congratulate Henry and to tour the Post which is located at 5999 25th Avenue Trail, Vinton.
On Saturday, July 10, the Norway Bandits and the Watkins Mudhends will go to bat for bragging rights. The Annual Festivities will be held at the Gabe Kuester Memorial Park.The baseball game will begin at 4:30 p.m. Concessions and cold beer available.Fireworks will follow the ballgame.
