The Palace reopened on April 30, 2021, after a 14-month pandemic closure. We survived that frightening year thanks to the generosity of our wonderful community partners. We were awarded several grants, both locally and nationally. If you were in Vinton on Saturday night, you heard music. From the Cedar RIver to the farthest most corner in the southwest end of Vinton, the music was heard. If you made your way to Celebration Park you know that Vinton Unlimited provided the town with an excellent opportunity to enjoy some classic rock from the 70s, 80s and beyond. If you enjoy musicals, or music in general and a good story,you MUST see, "Meet Me in St. Louis." The musical is fast moving with great costumes actors and actresses. From the youngest to the oldest cast member, you will get immersed in their characters and enjoy every minute of the show. The story follows the antics of the Smith family on the brink of the World's Fair in 1903-1904. The Enchanted Bookshop Brings Smiles to the Palace
On Saturday, and again on Sunday, The Enchanted Bookshop was performed by actors from the Little Vikes Drama Camp 2021 sponsored by ACT I of Benton County.Letters went out in April to area parents inviting their children to participate in the 2021 Little Vikes Drama Camp. The camp began with orientation on June 2. At the end of camp, campers were given their casting assignments for The Enchanted Bookshop Musical. Union's "Into the Woods" cast to be featured on IPBS July 9th
Union's cast of the Spring musical "Into The Woods" traveled to Des Moines on June 3rd to receive their awards and record their performance for the Iowa High School Musical Theatre Awards Showcase. The entire cast was awarded "Outstanding Musical Production" and "Outstanding Ensemble". 3 students received "Outstanding Performance in a lead role"-Ty Fleshner, Madelon Rathe and Samuel Klein. Veteran's Night Concert June 25 with Aaron Tippin
Friday night, June 25th, 2021, Aaron Tippin will honor local members of the military at a Veterans Night concert. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.Each veteran will have the opportunity to walk across the stage at the concert, being escorted to the front of the stage as Scott Sanborn (Emcee) will announce each veteran's provided information.
