The Vinton-Shellburg girls golf team were a bunch of "happy campers" on the way home from the WAMAC West golf meet in Waterloo on Monday evening, says Coach Janet Woodhouse. The Vikings, now 28-2 on the year, returned with the division trophy, after edging Williamsburg by one stroke.
Coach's Report

WAMAC West Divisional
South Hills Golf Course
Waterloo par 36
Weather conditions: 70s and partly cloudy
What a feeling to bring home the team trophy! As a team we played consistently and well. There is a lot of trouble on this course with numerous big trees, water, sand, and many lateral hazards. The course was extremely wet in places due to a morning rain storm. The greens were very fast. Our team goal was to keep the ball in the fairway and out of trouble, and the girls really took that to heart. I was extremely proud of what these young ladies accomplished today! Low putts: Mara Jessen with 16.
