Sports : Horst siblings win Party in the Park 5K races

Another 5k win: Patrick Horst receives his fifth PIP event trophy from VPRD's Brad Barker.

Lily and Patrick Horst received the PIP 5K trophies on Saturday.

Siblings Patrick and Lily Horst won the men's and women's 5K events during the annual Party in the Park race on Saturday morning.

Patrick led all male runners with a time of 17:48, while Lily led the ladies with a time of 22:14. Patrick has a total of five PIP 5K trophies; he has won the race every year since his first win as a high school sophomore. He did not run the race his senior year because he was on vacation.

Lily won the age 13-18 category last year but she finished the race nearly six minutes faster this year.
