Some days it doesn’t happen. We were disappointed not to advance; we had topped Nevada at Saturday’s tourney at the Tama Country Club by 11 strokes. Nevada’s team had played in several meets during the season at the Ames Country Club; we were envious of that opportunity.
The V-S girls have worked to improve all season, and their scores show they have. However, yesterday was not one of our better team scores. For Katie Lovell and Liz Moen, this is their last high school competitive golf. We appreciate what they, as well as seniors Samantha Jorgensen and Colleen Finch, brought to our program.
I know our four varsity team members will continue to play, and hopefully compete, this summer; that’s where next season begins. Their efforts last summer paid off for them this season. We had improved averages from each individual on the team. We ended our season 36-20 overall.
