Sports : V-S girls soccer team loses to Mount Vernon

The Vinton-Shellsburg girls soccer team lost to Mount Vernon 6-1, last Thursday. “Kylie Fisher, a senior, was our goal scorer and she scored on a breakaway in the first half. The play started with a beautiful pass from Kaitlin McAbee to Clare Cooling who then sent the ball behind the defense for Kylie to run onto. On the other end of the field, Chelsea Brown made 17 saves,” said Coach Alana Svensen. The JV team played their first game of the season and they lost 1-0.
