Sports : Noren, Stueck lead Viking golfers to win vs. S. Tama

Grant Noren (37) and Tyler Stueck (36) led Viking golfers to victory Tuesday.

Grant Noren led the way Tuesday carding a 36 as the Vikings defeated South Tama 150 – 214. The course is in great shape and the temperature was perfect to get the season started. Tyler Stueck was the runner-up medalist carding a 37. Austin Bohnsack shot 38 and Tanner Cummings finished the team score with 39. Bryce Shaw carded a 40 and Mike DeLong shot 41.

The Junior Varsity played Tuesday as well and shot 180. David Bray led the way shooting 41 and Brian Stainbrook carded a 42 to help the Vikings earn the win for the JV. Kyle Jorgenson carded a 46, Trey Rouse shot 51, Barrett Shaw carded a 52 and Seth Patterson shot 59 for the Vikings.

The Vikings are in action Thursday at the Vinton Country Club hosting Independence and Saturday they travel to Waverly for an invitational.
