The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings went to Farley, hoping to extend their winning streak to three games.

But Western Dubuqueplayers celebrated Parents Night by defeating the Vikings 33-22.

The Bobcats scored first as they kept the Vikings from getting a first down in their first two possessions.

After two Vikings punts, the Bobcats scored on a 50-yard-drive, getting their first touchdown on a short pass.

One the ensuing possession, a penalty gave the Vikings their first first down of the game. Logan Williams then scored the first of his touchdowns on a 52-yard-run, getting blocking from the front line as well as downfield blocking from Gunner Tranel. The kick failed, leaving the score at 7-6.

Another 52-yard-run by Williams on their next possession gave the Vikings a first down deep in Bobcat territory. Williams scored again on a touchdown run, and tied the game at 14 by running in the two-point conversion attempt.

By this time, Williams already had gained 123 yards and scored two touchdowns, while only carrying the ball nine times.

The teams exchanged punts until the end of the second quarter, when WD put together a quick scoring drive to make the game 21-14 with less than a minute left in the half.

The Vikings were able to get into Bobcat territory but time ran out before they had a chance to score.

The Vikings took their final lead of the game after a Bobcat miscue.

The Vikings recovered a fumbled punt on the WD 20. Williams scored a few minutes later. The two-point conversion gave the Vikings the lead at 22-21.

The Bobcats scored next after a Viking fumble. A 26-yard touchdown pass gave them a 27-22 lead.

The Bobcats scored again with four minutes left in the game to bring the score to 33-22.

The Vikings return home next week for Homecoming, as well as the induction of new V-S Hall of Fame members. They host undefeated Marion.
