Sports : VS 8th grade boys continue win streak at Little Viking Invitational

Axl Hoepner (right) won the shot put and discus and finished 2nd in the 100 for VS 8th grade.

Nolan Haisman set a new school record in the 1600M, breaking the 5-minute mark with a time of 4:58.97; Axl Hoepner threw the discus well enough (137 feet, 11 inches) to have placed second in the most recent high school track meet; he also won the shot put and finished a close second in the 100M dash. Will Dudley won both the 100M and 200M hurdles events.

Those three eighth graders combined for 77 of the team’s 167 points as the Class of 2019 boys track team continued its undefeated streak. The boys have won every meet this year, continuing the success they began last year, in their first year of official competition.
