The Vikings went to Tara Hills in Van Horne for their first competition of the 2015 year Saturday. The conditions were windy and chilly to start the day on the course but the temperatures did improve while the wind stayed gusty. The Vikings placed third shooting a 330. Bryce Shaw and Tyler Stueck medaled for the Vikings tying for tenth both shooting 81.

West Deleware finished first with a 293, Williamsburg second with a 318, Vinton-Shellsburg third with 330, Waterloo Columbus fourth with 336, Benton fifth with 343, Clear Creek-Amana sixth with 350, Independence was seventh with 351 and Center Point-Urbana was eighth with 382.

The first four places went to West Deleware. Bryce Frick was first firing a 71, Harrison Guetzko was second with 73, Clayton Larson was third with 74, and Zach Weber was fourth with 75. Ethan Jacoby was fifth with 77 and Isaac Knock was sixth with 78 both from Williamsburg. Landon Pace of Benton tied for seventh with Nick Stegar of Independence with 79. Sam Buch of Williamsburg was ninth with 80 and Sam Goldsberry of Waterloo Columbus tied Bryce Shaw and Tyler Stueck for tenth with 81.

The Vikings have a busy week with meets at South Tama, Marion, Independence, and a big tourney at Waverly this week.
