Members of the Vinton Aquatic Club have done well in the Senior Short Course Swimming Championship and very well in the 2015 Iowa Junior Spring Diving Championship events.
On Feb. 19-22, three VAC members qualified for the Senior meet.
Ben Dvorak finished in 21st place in the boys 13-14 age division 100 yd. breaststroke with a time of 1:12.29 and in 19th place in the 200 yd. breaststroke with a time of 2:38.14.
Geordyn Webster finished in 93rd place in the 50 yd. freestyle with a time of 27.61.
Nathan Dvorak was 29th in the 100 yd. breastroke (Men’s Sr. Division) with a time of 1:06.67.
Diving champs
It was in the March 8 diving competition that the VAC members earned top honors, in both Novice and Championship divisions.
Winners include:
Tori Elwick, first place, 1 meter novice, with a score of 65.5.
Justyce Dominick was first in two categories: 1 meter Championship (94.5) and 3 meter Novice (93).
Geordyn Webster was 2nd in the girls age 12-13 1 meter Championship (183.3) and first in the 3 meter Championship (194.45)
Broden Farrell was first in two events in the boys under age 9 division: 1 meter Novice (59.5) and 3 meter Novice (72).
In that same division, Wesley Farrell was first in the 1 meter Championship (105.70) and 3 meter Championship (126.60).
Cyrus Elwick was first in the boys 14-15 1 meter novice (139.05) and 3 meter novice (167.85).
Ben Dvorak was first in the boys 14-15 1 meter championship (228.40) and 3 meter championship (239.70).
