Sports : Vikings lose to Decorah in final home swim meet of season

Vinton-Shellsburg faced off with Decorah Thursday evening in their final home meet of the season, falling in a competitive match by the score of 53-39.

The home team started the meet out with an exciting win in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of Matt Upmeyer, Ryan Levis, Anthony Dickerson and Jordan Evans edged Decorah’s A relay by 1/100thof a second. Vinton-Shellsburg’s team of Caleb Kruckenburg, Evans, Upmeyer and Dickerson also took first in the 200 Free Relay. Individual event winners were Anthony Dickerson in the 100 Free and 100 Back, Matt Upmeyer in the 50 Free and Jordan Evans in the 100 Breast.
