Sports : Girls win VSHS bowling opener; boys fall just 14 pins short

Cole Garwood led the varsity boys with a 371 while Taylor Berry's 335 led the VS girls varsity bowling team in its opening competition last week.

The varsity girls won; the boys lost a close contest.

Coach's Summary:

This is the first match of our season and I am very proud of these teams. As you know, Berry's Lanes has gone through some changes and replaced the lanes recently, and our teams have only had one full practice on them. As they learn the lanes, we will continue to grow as a team. Our Varsity Girls team has won their first match by 168 pins, to start their season out strong. They were led by Taylor Berry (Freshman) with 194 Our Varsity Boys team went into their bakers with deficit, tried to rally back but lost by 14 pins. They were led by Cole Garwood (Junior) with 214 The surprise came with our JV Boys team. They scored very well and proved that they are knocking at the heels of the Varsity team. They were led by Brandon Price (Senior)with a career high of 278, Tyler Rasmussen (Junior) 214, and Zach Uthoff (Senior) 202. This team rallied together very well and continue to improve each day. We now have a JV Girls team and they are gaining knowledge about the game and will help to build our team for the future. See complete results HERE.
