The Viking-Vikette Hall of Fame adds for new members this year, including Kory Winsor.
Kory was member of member of the 2000 Viking Football team to win the first District Championship and first State-playoff berth in school history. He was a member of the 2000 Class 3A state-qualifier baseball team and a member of the 2002 WaMaC Champion baseball team. He was a member of the 2000 Sophomore WaMaC Champion basketball team. And, he was a two-time WaMaC Champion and an eight-time State qualifier in Track & Field.
Kory was a two-time All-district and one- time All-state honoree in football, two-time All-conference honoree in basketball and a one-time All-conference honoree in baseball. He was named to the CR Gazette's Top 10 Defensive Players to Watch list, the 2001 Gridiron Great Team, and was the KCRG TV9 Athlete of the Week in track,
Kory is currently living in Atkins with his wife Megan and 9-month-old daughter Blaire. He is teaching and coaching football/track at Benton Community.
"Two of my greatest memories were being part of the 2000 playoff team, the first in school history; and my senior year of baseball, in the summer of 02, when we won the Wamac and I think set a school record for most wins," says Kory.
Kory and the other new inductees will be honored at halftime of Friday's Homecoming game, and at a reception at the Vinton Country Club afterwards.
