The Viking golf team beat Anamosa Tuesday at Wildcat to improve their record to 25 wins. The meet was a little colder than expected but the team carded some very good scores. Tyler Stueck led the Vikings and was the medalist with 38. Bryce Shaw was the runner up medalist with 39. The Viking team shot 160 winning the dual meet over Anamosa who shot 168.
Grant Noren shot 41 with the other varsity score coming from Daniel Janssen with 42. Dylan Rippel shot 44 and Austin Carolus carded a 45. The Vikings also had some JV plyers playing in the last meet of their season and many turned in cards that were very competitive in any meet this season. Austin Bohnsack was the low man shooting 40, followed closely by Quinton Guenther with 41 and Brian Stainbrook with 42 both season bests. Kyle Jorgenson and Brandon Geiger both shot 44 followed by Cole Smith with a 45. Aaron Ohlesen shot a season best 46 with Jacob Obrien close behind with 48. Aaron Henderson shot 50 while Jordan Shoettmer and Tanner Rollins both came in with 62.
The Vikings have a final tune up Wednesday at Gardner Wednesday as they prepare for sectionals Friday.
