Sports : CPU edges Vikings in final seconds, 38-35

The Vinton-Shellsburg boys basketball team continued its trend of last-second games on Friday, but this time they came up short.

For the second time this year, the Vikings lost by 3 to Center Point-Urbana. Free throws in the final seconds gave the Stormin' Pointers the final edge.

The Vikings are 4-9 on the season. They lost one game in overtime, and five other losses were by four points or less.

The Vikings travel to Central Clinton tonight, and Williamsburg on Tuesday. On Friday, they host Benton Community, which handed them one of their four 3-point losses earlier this season.
