William Alan Mall (Bill, Bo, Bobo) passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He fought until the very end and never lost his sense of humor-a true reflection of the strength and spirit that defined him.

Bill was born to Clifford (Bruce) and Sheryl Mall on July 21, 1960 in Marengo, IA. In his younger years, Bill embraced adventure living in Arizona, Florida and Alaska always ready for whatever came next. On June 29, 1996, he married Connie. Together they built a life centered around family, friends, laughter, and making memories.

He is survived by his loving wife, Connie; daughters, Samantha (Kevin) Abler- West Des Moines, IA and Erica (Kraig) Ceynar-Fairfax, IA; and his beloved grandchildren, Alivia, Wryker, Zoe (Trevor), Lizzie, and Zane, who were truly the light of his life.

He is also survived by his siblings, Jana (Denny) Munson and Robert (Karla) Mall along with many nieces and nephews, extended family and many great friends.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, Sheryl Mall; grandparents; Uncle Tommy; and dear friend Monte Riha.

He loved people, plain and simple. Whether he was playing on the farm, spending time outdoors golfing, or reminiscing about the good ole’ days, he was happiest when he was surrounded by his family and friends. But above all, he loved being a grandpa.

He had a gift for making people laugh and never passed up the opportunity to tell one of his countless dad jokes-each one delivered with full confidence that it was a “Bill Original.” He could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, and usually leave them smiling.

His humor, his presence, and the way he made people feel will be deeply missed but never forgotten. He will be missed more than words can express and remembered every time a good or “terrible” dad joke is told. We will love you always.

Memorial Service is 11:00 a.m. Friday. March 27, 2026 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemtery, Belle Plaine. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday. March 26th at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
