Kenneth Charles "KC" Rausch, 75, of Mt. Auburn, died Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 19, 1950, the son of Kenneth Rausch and Betty Gibson Rausch. KC graduated from Hudson High School in 1968 and served in the US Army from February 1970 to December 1971. He worked as a machinist at John Deere and retired in 2017 after serving 45 years. KC served on the Board of Directors for John Deere Credit Union and was a member of Mt. Auburn American Legion.
KC was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Pat. He was a loving father and cherished grandfather, whose warm presence brought joy to his entire family. With a passion for woodworking, KC crafted beautiful pieces that reflected his skill and care. His adventurous spirit shone through in the travels he shared with Pat. KC loved all his pets dearly and enjoyed sitting in his backyard with them and his wife and family. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and devotion, forever remembered by those who loved him.
KC is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia, of Mt. Auburn; his children Lisa (Sterling) Simonson of Cedar Falls, Michelle (Paul) Morvant of Ft. Smith, AR, Kelly (Michael) Green of Ft. Smith, AR, Jo (Mitchell) Voss of Dallas, TX, and Kyle (Vail) Rausch, of Frederika; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister Robin (Patty Novell) Rausch, of Branchburg, NJ; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded by great-granddaughter Ezra Fangman, sister Karen Brandhorst, sister-in-law Ann Grove, and brother-in-law Dan Wagner.
A memorial service for KC will be on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo, with a Celebration of Life Gathering to follow until 4:00 PM.
