Allenor Helene (Barnes) Selck, 82, of Atkins, IA died Sunday, October 12, 2025 at her home. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Bunny Dillard officiating with a visitation at the church from prior to the service at 9 to 9:45 a.m. Burial will take place at Raetz Cemetery, Atkins.

Allenor was born on January 3, 1943 in rural Fayette County to Howard and Agnes (Ruroden) Barnes. She was baptized at Highland Lutheran Church, rural Elgin and confirmed at Norway Lutheran Church, rural St. Olaf, IA by Rev. Bruce Boyce.

She graduated from Elkader Central Community High School in 1961. Allenor married James Steele in 1962 and later divorced. She was employed by CRST for nearly 38 years, retiring in June 2008.

Allenor married Wilbur Selck on April 10, 1976 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Marion, IA. They made their home in Atkins and were members of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids.

Allenor is survived by her sons, James (Rosaline) Steele, Darrin Steele, David (Melanie) Selck, and Wayne (Josie) Selck; daughter, Wendy (Joe) Kiser; sisters, Sherry Griffith, Dorothy (Chester) Reie, Karen (Ken) Wilker, Vicky (Frank) Miller, Debbie (Delvin) Schroeder; grandchildren, Billy, Erin, and Jesse Steele, Caitlin Alston, Joshua and Jacob Steele, Sarah Blair, Taylor Selck, Justine and Nova Selck, Draven and Mackenzie Kiser; step-son, Bill Selck; 9 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

Allenor was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur in 2001, and her parents.

Memorials may be directed to the family for donation to a charity of their choice.
