Kenneth "Kenny" Allan DeFauw, 62, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away June 9, 2025 at his home due to medical complications.
Kenneth was born July 16, 1962 to Howard and Nancy (Briggs) DeFauw in Geneseo, IL. After graduating from Cambridge High School, class of 1980, Ken enlisted in the U.S. Army. Upon his return he worked for farmers around Cambridge, IL. He met Stacy Frimml and followed her to Benton County; making it their home for the last 38 years. The couple was married August 6, 1988 at St. John's Catholic Church, Blairstown, IA. Starting their married life outside of Blairstown before moving to Belle Plaine to raise their family. Living in Benton County Ken worked for local farmers before Peirce Lumber for the last 36 years.
Ken was a member of the Belle Plaine American Legion and helped with the Lions Club 4th of July events.
For those that knew Ken, family was his everything and that's what drove him to embrace life. Some of his favorite things in life were his wife Stacy, being the best dad to all his kids and spending as much time as he could with his grandbabies. He had a passion for truck driving, collecting baseball caps, fishing, camping and family cookouts.
Ken is survived by his mother; Nancy DeFauw of Cambridge, IL; wife of 36 years, Stacy of Belle Plaine; children, Shanon (Deric) Lawrence of Marengo, Shawn (Donna) Lawrence of Belle Plaine, April (Kenny) Bahr of Cedar Rapids, Richard (Allie) DeFauw of Belle Plaine; grandchildren, Wyatt, Kenleigh, Grayson, Addison, Jaxon, Elijah, Beau and Cooper; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Parker; sister, Lori Briggs of Cambridge; brother, Gary (Amy) DeFauw of Genesco, IL; along with many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Howard DeFauw.
Celebration of Life is 11-12p.m., Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine. Graveside service will follow the celebration at 1 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine, with military honors. Memorials may be directed to the family.
