Obituaries : Roxann Bistline

BRANDON: Roxann Bistline, 61 of Brandon died, Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Manor Care in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, December 29, 2017 at Phillips Family Center, 605 Second Avenue in Vinton with Rev. Mark Dieter officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 PM, Thursday also at the family center. A memorial fund has been established. Roxann was born August 20, 1956 in Vinton to Don and Virginia (Brehm) Bistline. She graduated from Washington High School in Vinton with the class of 1975. She worked as a cook at Vinton-Shellsburg High School. Roxann enjoyed fishing, riding her bicycle, helping out with the farm work and caring for her farm cats. She was active in helping out with the various community activities in Brandon including church suppers at the Methodist Church and the mobile food pantry. She loved to make noodles and sharing her produce from her expansive garden. She is survived by her brother, Roger of Walker; her aunts and uncles, Conrad (Della) Brehm of Vinton, Patty (Russell) Abernathy of Waverly; Mary Richart of Urbana, Marcell (Bob) Caslaska of Clutier, Marie Bistline of Brandon, Elsie Whitsel of Chelsea, Joyce Staab of Van Horne, Jean (Bob) Reid of Corpus Christi, Texas and Lucille Meyers of Arizona and numerous cousins and friends.
