Obituaries : Eva Viola Marie Ohlsen

DYSART - Eva Viola Marie Ohlsen, 89, died Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Sunnycrest Nursing Center in Dysart. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home, Vinton. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 28, at the funeral home. Cremation will follow services, and inurnment will be in Dysart Cemetery at a later date. Eva was born May 26, 1927, in Keystone, Iowa, the daughter of William M. and Gretha Moeller Jabens. She attended Jackson #3 country school. Eva was united in marriage with Frank Ohlsen in 1944. He preceded her in death. She married John Ohlsen in 1952, and the couple farmed together. He preceded her in death in 1987. Eva was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and dancing. Eva is survived by her daughter-in-law, Judy Ohlsen, of Vinton; two grandchildren: Jeff (Shelley) Peters of Dysart and John (Ev) Ohlsen of Kellogg; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; son Frank Ohlsen; brother Hans Jabens; and four sisters: Alvena Gross, Emma Schoonover, Leona Parizek and Darlene Jabens.
