VINTON:

     Lois L. (Worthen) Rommann, 86, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Vinton Lutheran Home following an extended illness.

     Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 20, 2016 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St. in Vinton with Pastor Phil Borleske officiating.  Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.  Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., at the funeral home on Sunday.  A Memorial Fund has been established.

     Lois was born February 23, 1930 in Vinton to W.A. “Bill” and Inez (Gulick) Worthen and graduated from Vinton’s Lincoln High School in 1948.

     On April 17, 1949 she was united in marriage to Oren W. Rommann at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.   In 1959 Lois and Oren formed Rommann Tractor Company, a partnership with his brother, Dale and sister-in-law, Marcella.  Lois served as Bookkeeper for the firm which was sold in 1987 when the Rommann’s retired.  Oren preceded her in death on November 16, 2000.

     Lois was a member of the Vinton Country Club where she was an outstanding golfer.  She was also a member of the Presbyterian Church and volunteered with the Benton Co. Food Pantry.  She loved fishing especially the yearly trips to Minnesota.  Lois and Oren loved kids and enjoyed spoiling the neighborhood children over the years.  Lois especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. In her leisure she enjoyed playing cards at Congregate meals and with friends.  She also loved going to area Casinos.

     Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Danise (Wayne) Shannon of Vinton; her son, Dennis (Betty) Rommann of Casa Grande AZ; her grandsons, Bryan Baldus of Mt. Morris, IL, Trent (Ale Pizarro) Rommann of Wichita, KS, and Ryan (Leena) Rommann of Lacey, WA; great granddaughter, Kai Rommann; and her step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, Seth (Jodie) Shannon, Addison and Ivan, Sarah Shannon, Hailey Argo, Jaden Shannon, and Mason McConnell, and Tyler (Rachel) Shannon, Caitlin and Wayne Shannon.

     In addition to her parents and Husband, Oren, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Bradley Baldus.
