Clara Marie Garwood

VINTON:     Clara Marie Garwood, daughter of Jude Clen and Laura Andreina (Johnson) Tallman, was born in the family farm home near Monteith, Iowa on June 10, 1922.
     She was called from this life on Sunday, January 11, 2015.  On February 21, 1943, she was united in marriage to Macy Eugene Garwood of Dexter, Iowa at her rural family home near Guthrie Center, Iowa.  Their marriage was blessed with three sons - Jay Dee (Carol), Teddy Lee (Deanna), and Macy Eugene, Jr. "Sam" (Cindy).  Her life was made happy and complete when her family was around her.  Her garden, flowers, and friends filled her life with entertainment.
     Besides her sons and their wives, she leaves behind her grandchildren, Jayson (Tamara) Garwood, Charlotte (Doug) Frost, Roxanne (Jeff) Lindaman, Suanne Winters, Lisa (Andy) Hunt; her step-grandchildren, Lisa Sheehy, Kevin (Shae) Sheehy, and Jaclyn Anderson; thirteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; her sisters, Laura Ostby, Elsie (Norman) Hertz; and brother, Peter Tallman; and many nieces. nephews and relatives
     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Macy, son Jay Dee, granddaughter, Tina Lowe; brothers, Wilbur, in infancy, Robert, and Justin "Jack" Tallman, and sisters, Ruth and Wilma Tallman.
     Services will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church in Vinton, Iowa on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 3:30 p.m., with Rev. Dr. Judith Bunyi officiating.  Following the Funeral Service lunch will be served at the church and  the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Fireplace Room of the church.  Interment will be held at Union Cemetery, Guthrie Center, Iowa on Saturday, January 17th at 11 a.m.
