VINTON—Harold Lloyd Hatfield, 67, died Monday, January 12, 2015, at his home due to lung cancer.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Harold was born October 3, 1947, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of LaVerne Amos and Evelyn Della Chiochon Hatfield. He was raised and received his education in Omaha until moving to Vinton with his aunt and uncle at the age of 16.
On November 15, 1980, Harold was united in marriage with Tina Marie Yerkes at First Baptist Church in Vinton.
Harold worked at McDowell’s, Hawk Bilt, Tama Pack and Benton County Transportation. He retired in 2000.
Harold enjoyed gambling, WWE and fishing.
Harold is survived by his wife of 34 years, Tina, of Vinton; two sons: Justin and Jacob Hatfield, both of Vinton; six daughters: Amber Hatfield of Cedar Rapids; Kristina Hatfield, Sharon Burgess, Jodi Cappel, Brenda Wilson and Melissa (Scott) Steinberg, all of Vinton; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Bobby and Robert Hatfield; and two sisters: Evelyn Mattson and Jeanne Hatfield.
