Virginia Louise Smalldridge

Virginia Louise Smalldridge, age 86 of Marshalltown Iowa, lovingly known as “Mom” by family and friends, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 20, 2016.  She was a resident of the Iowa Veterans Home, where she had been living with her husband Bearl for the past two months.  Her cause of death is uncertain, but is believed to have been due to cardiovascular complications.

Alice Voss Ehrman

BLAIRSTOWN:      Alice Voss Ehrman, 92, died Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Keystone Nursing Care Center in Keystone.      A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 1, 2016 at St. John Catholic Church in Blairstown with Father Craig Stiemel as Celebrant.  Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blairstown.

Martin K. Gardner

Martin K. Gardner, 69, passed away peacefully at home with his family on March 17, 2016 in Brighton Colorado. He was born March 10, 1947 in Vinton, Iowa to Donald Gardner and Helen Sparks. He attended and graduated from Washington High School in 1966 and continued his education receiving training in many different areas of business management. Martin had a successful and fulfilling career as CEO for East Central Iowa Rural Electric Cooperative for over 35 years.

Sgt. Bert Ray McNitt, 89, of rural Brandon, Iowa, went joyously to his new Eternal life on Saturday, March 5, 2016. Graveside Services: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa, with full military honors. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.    Survivors include his daughters, Ruth McNitt of rural Brandon, Iowa, and Donna Jewell of Phoenix, Arizona; three granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

SHELLSBURG:     Dorothy Joann Sutton, 84, died Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Northbrook Manor in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness.      She was born July 15, 1931 in Shellsburg to Vernon and Effie (Rogers) Crow and graduated from Shellsburg High School in 1948.  She was married to Curtis Dean Sutton who preceded her in death      A full obituary will follow at a later date.
