The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department once again held its annual essay contest for kids in grades 1-5. Essays were submitted and then judged by several volunteers from the community. Judges viewed each entry prior to seeing the names of the child. First place winners were presented with a rose for their mom from Nature’s Corner Flower Shop, and their award winning essay was laminated.
