Some areas in the Vinton area reported three inches of rain Friday as a thunderstorm rumbled through late in the afternoon. Baseball and softball games were canceled, wind advisories were issued and streets, creeks and yards in many places filled with water.

"I've only seen my yard flooded this bad one other time since I moved here in 98, and that was during one of the storms in the "great flood" of a few years ago," said Tony Bopp.

Tony shared some photos of the unusual ponding in his yard, while LaNette Parker shared her photos of the ominous clouds with Vinton Today. Thanks to them!
