News : Palace seating project begins

VSHS athletes and adult volunteers carried the new seating into the Palace on Sunday afternoon.

Vinton-Shellsburg High School athletes and several adult volunteers helped Palace Managers Gerald and Marcy Horst haul the auditorium seats into the Palace Theatre as the installation and what Marcy has called the "deep cleaning" of the Palace began this week. The concrete under the lower seating area will be cleaned, and the holes for the bolts that held the old bolts will be filled before the new seats are installed. The balcony floors will be widened 10 inches at each level to make room for the deeper seats. The top level of the balcony will be raised 10 inches, as well.
