A group of eastern Iowa singers brought some decades-old favorites to Vinton on Friday. The Doowops sang songs from the 50s, 60s and 70s at Riverside Park during the Friday events. Their performance was followed by a preview of tonight's huge fireworks show.

The Vinton Community Band performed; there were pizza-eating and cup-stacking contests, as well as rides on horse- and pony-drawn carts, hay racks and the popular barrel train.

Like all other Party in the Park events, all activities are free because of the generous donations from many businesses and individuals.
