The pickup truck with the license plate that reads "Bearly" has been parked outside the Van and Julie Zimmer residence recently, as Brian Parr and his chainsaws have been during a storm-damaged tree into a decorative sculpture that includes birdhouse, bird baths and other perches for birds. Like many Vinton residents, the Zimmers lost many trees in the July 11, 2011 storm.

Several blocks south and west, at the Gerald Kreutner residence, a large squirrel is turning heads. Lots of people have complimented both Parr and Kreutner on this sculpture. Kreutner sells corn for squirrels at Theisen's under the brand name of Jerry's Squirrel Feed. Parr's sculpture includes a label from Jerry's between the feet of the squirrel.
