The Garrison Firefighters and First Responders are holding an open house celebration for their reconstructed Emergency Services Building on Saturday, June 16 from 2 to 5 pm.

The station was destroyed by the July 11, 2011 Derecho windstorm that caused damage throughout the Garrison Fire District and Benton County. Garrison Fire Department and First Responder Vehicles were damaged when the building collapsed on them and much of their equipment was damaged or destroyed also.

Private citizens; businesses, corporations and foundations contributed nearly $50,000 to the recovery and reconstruction effort. The public is invited to see the rebuilt facility and equipment.

Refreshments will be served.
