January Difference Maker Recognition: 

The Vinton Shellsburg Community School District Board proudly recognized Dan Thomsen as the January Difference Maker.

Dan has played a vital role in revitalizing the Tilford Elementary PTO, helping reestablish engaging, inclusive events that strengthen connections between families, students, and staff. He was also recognized for his leadership as head coach of the archery team, which has seen significant growth in student participation, and for his daily work as a paraeducator at Tilford Elementary. His patience, kindness, and dedication to students and colleagues continue to make a meaningful impact across the district.
