The Blooming Vinton Hanging Basket Program was a project supported by the Cottage Garden Society, Vinton Parks and Recreation and the Flowerpot Committee.

Committee members helped to put the flower project together. A special thank you was extended to Cindy Elwick on Thursday night's Farmer's Market program. Elwick funded the project in memory of Jay, Susan, and Barbara Bolin.

Vinton Parks and Recreation's Scott Wirth said, "The Blooming Vinton Hanging Basket Program has brought a beautiful pop of color to downtown, and it's a memorial that has become part of the community's everyday downtown experience." Wirth continued, "The Cottage Garden Society, Parks and Rec, and our Flowerpot Committee members helped pull it together, but Cindy's generosity made it possible. Cindy, thank you for making downtown Vinton bloom."

TP August 19, 2025, 11:17 pm I haven't been in Vinton in almost 50 years(hard for me to believe!) But my siblings and I grew up on East 4th street and to see the lights and the flower baskets that have been installed and Vinton Today have shared are absolutely beautiful.. Thank you all for keeping Vinton the small town lovely I always remembered.
