News : Kelby Robb, Karley Kenney to compete in State Fair Cowgirl Queen contest

Kelby Robb & Karley Kenney will go to the Iowa State Fair to compete in the Cowgirl Queen Contest.

Two Brandon Saddle Club members, Kelby Robb and Karley Kenney, will represent their club at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines this year in the Cowgirl Queen Contest.

The girls were judged in a horsemanship class (a pattern chosen by the judge which consists of turns, backing and pivots at a walk, trot or lope) and were required to answer judges questions. The competition was held at the Ralph Carson arena on Sunday June 5th, 2011 in Brandon.

Performance and appearance of both horse and rider are also factors in the judges decision. This year's Senior Queen is Kelby Robb riding "Fashion" and the Junior Queen is Karley Kenney riding "Dewey" all of Vinton.

Kelby and Karley have been members and friends of this club for many years, showing and helping one another. They both share a love of horses and are excited to be going to the State Fair together.
