The community of Shellsburg is excited to announce a bridge ribbon cutting ceremony to be held on Thursday, November 16th at 3:30 pm. The Sells Street bridge has served the community for 108 years and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Shellsburg is celebrating the opening of the new Smith Street bridge which will provide an improved gateway to the Shellsburg business district. City officials and guests will present information about the bridge and there will be a parade of vehicles signifying the decades of service provided by old bridge and a transition to the future. Following the ceremony, everyone is invited to explore the Shellsburg businesses during a "Sip and Shop" event.
