News : Construction begins for new business along K Ave. and remodeling for another

For months the city has been anticipating the arrival of a new business. Located on the corner of K Ave. and West 9th St. (the former Braille School Property along Hwy. 218) Construction is now underway for the anticipated arrival of a new business in town.

The property has been purchased by the Family Dollar/Dollar Tree company. A competition date has not been announced as of yet. Crews have been working for more than a week to prepare the land for the building site.

Also, close to opening is the new Auto Zone location next door to Ervin Motor Company. The former Dollar General location has been taken over by Auto Zone which has updated the property and added the logo of the business to the outside making the building pop. Crews continue to unloaded parts and stock them in the back of the store in preparation of the opening. A date has not yet been announced.
