“The people of Vinton fought the river, but the river fought back. This is a story of community pride, and the struggle toward recovery. It's the story told by the people who lived it.” That is the introduction of “24.7: The Vinton Area Flood of 2008,” produced by Kirk Monson and Brian Larkin. The film tells the storie of the historic flood in the words of the people who experienced its damage and tried to fight its waters. The movie is included in the Cedar Rapids Film Festival, which takes place this Friday and Saturday, April 9-10. It will be shown at Theatre B at 8:05 p.m. Friday, and again at 6:10 p.m. Saturday.
