The Vinton-Shellsburg Graduating Class of 2020 probably has the most memorable senior 2/3 year. For many of the students, they are now maneuvering through various forms of online communication with their teachers to finish their assignments for the school year. For the teachers, they are dealing with eye strain from the many hours they spend on the computer each day communicating with their students.

For most of the graduates, they are on the home stretch completing assignments before graduation, which is tentatively set for June 21st.

Several of the students stopped in on Monday to pick up their sign and a decorated cupcake and words of congratulations. Teachers also came to the parking lot to honk as the students pulled up and left as a way of congratulating the students. Click to view photos

Tharp's Design and community and staff donations made it possible to purchase yard signs for each graduating 2020 senior.

Signs will be Distributed to Seniors by their advisor. Each advisor has a 5-7 p.m. time block one day this week.

5/18 Monday: West Campus and Albritton will be the advisor groups

5/19 Tuesday: Weber and Lash will be the advisor groups

5/20 Wednesday: Hofer and Robertson will be the advisor groups

5/21 Thursday: Lough and Heeren will be the advisor groups

Staff will be practicing social distancing at all times and will use proper face covering and sanitizing between students.

Students won't be able to gather in the parking lot before or after receiving their sign.

Signs will only be given to the student or their parent. No signs will be given to a friend. If a student isn't able to pick up their sign during their advisor's time, other arrangements can be made.

Congratulations to all of our 2020 Senior. We are proud of you!

Thank you to those who helped make this possible.
