News : April 27, Drug take back day...along with every other day

The Drug Enforcement Agency would like to remind you that April 27th is the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

The day addresses a public safety and public health issue.

According to past surveys on drug use, 6 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs have been obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.

The DEA's Take Back Day event reminds people of the importance of prevention of drug addiction and overdose deaths.

Benton County is fortunate to offer drug a drug take back opportunity of prescription drugs every day.

Simply bring the medications in their bottles to the Sheriff's Department and put them in the drop off box at the entrance.
