Despite the threat of stormy weather, the 34th Annual Vinton Cruise saw 261 vehicles officially enter the annual cruise on Saturday. Hundreds of area residents filled the courthouse square area to get an up-close look at the vehicles, and then lined the streets as the cruise started at 7 p.m. A unique feature of this year's cruise was a a dozen or so Camaros from the Cedar Rapids Camaro Club, including member Shaun Swiser, who was featured in a 2012 story when entering the cruise was among one of the first things he did after returning from serving with the National Guard in the Middle East. This year, Swiser's wife is deployed and he remains home to take care of their son.
