The Vinton Police Department K-9 Unit was requested by the Benton County Sheriff's Office early Thursday morning around 7:35 AM to assist a deputy in apprehending 24 year old Jordan Dale Turner who ran from a Benton County Deputy southeast of Vinton in rural Benton County.
K-9 handler SPO Ben Parmater and his K-9 Gino arrived on scene at the Turner residence located at 2710 61st Street Lane around 8:09 AM and was able to pickup the scent of Turner and began to track southbound through a cornfield into a wooded area along the railroad tracks.
At 9:03 AM Gino successfully tracked and located Turner who was hiding under thick brush and downed trees. The area was over a half mile away from where Turner ran from the deputy.
The Benton County Deputy was initially at the Turner residence to arrest Jordan Dale Turner on outstanding arrest warrants. Turner was transported to the Benton County Jail without further incident.
